Guns ‘n’ Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine

What can I say about this song? Even my mother liked this one, along with Patience, although I did have to convince her than she probably wouldn’t like the rest of their songs. If you don’t recognise this song from the first two notes then I guess you aren’t a true fan. Plus you have to get the side to side swaying going to really appreciate it.

Eminem – Lose Yourself – Live

This song is from Eight Mile and was a surprisingly good film. So many musicians try to cross over and fail miserably. Once again Eminem has shown he is in a class of his own.

First started listening to him when I was in Toronto back in 2000. He was in the news over there because they were trying to (or did) ban him from performing. Or was it ban him from entering the country? I can’t remember which it was.

Foo Fighters – Everlong – Live

A great version of the song that in concert has Dave Grohl out by himself singing the song. As usual he had a bit of a chat with the crowd first. That’s the great thing about Foo Fighters concerts because he interacts well with the crowd. Not like that crappy Dire Straits concert I went to years and years ago. May as well have listened to an album in the middle of a footy field with thousands of other people because all they did was play a few songs.

Jewel – Hands – Live

Jewel is one of those performers who I started following after an appearance on a TV chat show. David Letterman to be specific. She didn’t have much exposure in Australia so not many knew of her at that stage. I was then lucky enough to see her live in Melbourne years ago.

Probably not the best clip, although it is something different to the normal ones. I thought this song might have been ruined by the continuous play it had in the media at the time of 9/11, however, good things can never be over-exposed.

INXS – Don’t Change – Live

Another song that brings back some memories. Playing with my slot cars and listening to what was one of the first cassettes I was given, probably as a birthday or Christmas present. Never a huge INXS fan although I liked some of there songs. This is definitely the best one they did.
