INXS – Don’t Change – Live

Another song that brings back some memories. Playing with my slot cars and listening to what was one of the first cassettes I was given, probably as a birthday or Christmas present. Never a huge INXS fan although I liked some of there songs. This is definitely the best one they did.

Cheers

So many years ago and this used to be on late at night on a Friday. I think I was in about year 11 or 12 at the time. Only a few of us watched it. Now I have slowly been going through the seasons on DVD.

The Breakfast Club

One of my all time favourite movies. I remember coming home from one of my exams, calling in to the video store and renting this movie. I didn’t drink back them so movies was my way of relaxing after exams. I watched it the first time, rewound the tape and watched it again. For a film with only 14 people in it, it was amazing. Combined with the fact most of it was filmed in a school and outside in the grounds for a few minutes. John Hughes rocked!

“Things look clear in black and white, The living color tends to dye our sight” are the first two lines as sung by Karla DeVito.

Meat Loaf – Paradise By The Dashboard Light

Oh boy, where do I start with this one? Possibly the first musician I seriously liked. Mid to late 70s I think and I was just a youngster. The first 45 single I bought with my own money was You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth.

Even better was that he actually performed live in Launceston once and I thought that was cool. Not many bands bothered to make the trek over Bass Strait to perform live, let alone a huge international act. I loved it.

R.E.M. – Losing My Religion – Live

So many memories with this one. I was a late starter as far as R.E.M. is concerned and this was one of the first songs that I heard. Small town person and a bit insulated. Reminds my of my first overseas trip, a great relationship and Beverly Hills 90210.
