Sinead O’Connor – Black Boys On Mopeds – Live

Normally I’m not a fan of people who only sing songs with activist type lyrics, however, Sinead O’Connor is an exception. So many songs to choose from.

BoDeans – Closer To Free – Live

I’m guessing if I asked any of my friends about this band they wouldn’t have a clue who I was talking about. I stumbled across them on Rage (I think) and taped a few songs from a concert way back in the mid 1980s. That VHS cassette was played a lot. Pity my mother (who also loves the band) taped over it one day.

If you are wondering where you have heard this song before, maybe you were a Party Of Five or Heavyweights fan.

Skyhooks – Women In Uniform

Classic Aussie band with a bunch of great songs. They were around at the time I used to sit and watch Countdown on Sunday nights. Pity Red had left the band by this stage. I didn’t even realise that until I read it whilst searching for this one.

AC/DC – Who Made Who – Live

All right, so it’s not Bon Scott, though after thirty years I think we can all agree Brian Johnson is just as much AC/DC as the rest of the band. I love the intro to this song.

Ram Jam – Black Betty

No an absolute favourite song, however, any person even remotely interested in music will know this song. Problem is, they might only know it through one of the multitude of cover versions.
