This song was used in the movie Cruel Intentions and whilst there are better movies around, it may have been what put me onto following Placebo. Also a fantastic soundtrack.
The looping in this scene is atrocious, however, it’s a good scene with the leads dancing, or attempting to dance. No way would I be rolling around on the floor of a real dance club. It is also further proof that white guys just don’t have rhythm.
The meaning behind this one is a bit sad and Rob Thomas tells the story on VH1 Storytellers about him writing it with his mother in mind when she was dying from cancer.
